The Avanti House won the 2008 Tomorrow’s Lifestyle Home competition, and is a model for sustainable 21st century living. The spatially varied interior is a pleasure to live and work in, offering adaptable spaces for successive generations as their needs change, with opportunities for customisation to suit each householder and full adaptability and access for people with disabilities. The design features sustainable passive means of energy saving and servicing systems which are easy to upgrade as new energy saving technologies become available.
The house has been designed to achieve a minimum of Code Level 4 for Sustainable Homes with a potential rating between 69 and 82 and is to be trialled in a new development by Crest Nicholson in Epsom.
