The Wrap House
LondonThis is a proposal for a new 1,250 msq high quality residence in one of London’s prime residential areas. The site is characterised by key historic sightlines which traverse its main public frontage and by large mature trees. It is also located within a designated conservation area and in close proximity to a number of listed properties.
Our innovative development strategy creates an inhabited landscape for the house which successfully reduces its overall impact and enhances the green outlook of the site. To generate the required internal area a deep plan single storey podium is established with courtyards cut out to bring light into the interior. The upper floor then wraps and folds thereby avoiding key sightlines from being obscured. A south facing terrace serves the main living spaces whilst other areas of the podium are exploited as green roofs and for photovoltaic panels.
