The Homewood

Surrey

This key work of the 1930s has been acquired by the National Trust and, under Avanti’s design and supervision, has undergone complete refurbishment and services upgrade, prior to being opened in May 2004.

We were fortunate to work with the original architect Patrick Gwynne, who remained in residence throughout the project over the last ten years of his life. This property with its extensive gardens, together with the Trust’s other Modern Movement acquisition, also restored by Avanti, 2 Willow Road, Hampstead, offer a unique record of pioneering modernism in England.
