St Clements

London

St. Clements is an exciting landmark development for Linden Homes, located at the centre of the ‘golden triangle’ formed by the City financial district, Canary Wharf and Stratford’s Olympic Park. Avanti Architects were appointed by Linden Homes in 2017 to restore and adapt two 19th Century Grade II Listed buildings within a former NHS Hospital complex for residential and community use.

Avanti are providing detailed design services and coordinating the resolution of complex conservation matters in dialogue with the LB of Tower Hamlets and Historic England.  The project is now on site with works about to start on the North Block and John Denham building and due for completion towards the third quarter of 2019.

Overall, the scheme delivers just over 250 residential units across 11 buildings and 3 phases of work.  Community uses including a public café, meeting rooms and a resident’s congregation space are also accommodated within the scope of work. The scheme also creates the UK’s first urban Community Land Trust.
