Avanti Architects won an RIBA open competition attracting 75 entries to design a state-of-the-art Early Years Centre at Normand Croft Community School in Hammersmith and Fulham.
The project provides for a range of integrated complementary services, including a 154 place nursery for children up to the age of 5, the relocation of an existing reception class for 30 children within the new Early Years Unit, community training space, offices and consultation rooms for healthcare support & social inclusion and an adult training suite. At the heart of the scheme is a new space we called the ‘playtrium’, a top-lit social and multi-purpose space for children.
