Ken Stimpson School
PeterboroughThis project included refurbishment (administration functions), building extensions (improved dining) and a standalone new building (6th form centre, assembly hall and science). A holistic approach was adopted which benefited the whole school, not just specific departments. A new building with linked connections to existing buildings and multiple entrances was used to relieve concentrations in movement across the campus. This building closed off the final side of a public square to create a new civic presence for the school. The scale and contemporary style of this building complemented the adjacent public library and sports buildings.
