Harbour Meadow
ChichesterThis house was designed by Peter Moro and Richard Llewellyn Davies in the late 1930s and has been described as a modern re-interpretation of the traditional country house. Though listed Grade II it had deteriorated to a condition unworthy of its significance.
The house has now been fully restored by Avanti with upgrade in the building performance and complete replacement of services. Repair works included new roof coverings, reinstatement of the distinctive rooftop screen, repair of exterior brickwork, replacement of the (non-original) windows to a more authentic design, and reinstatement of original colours. Internally, judicious interventions have been made to suit current lifestyle requirements – linkage of the kitchen and dayroom and connection of these areas to the waterside view. A new swimming pool and stand-alone garden pavilion complete the project.
