Great Ormond Street Parents’ Accommodation

Avanti Architects have recently completed a renovation project that has seen two 18th century townhouses on Powis Place transformed into modern, comfortable facilities for 40 people, just seconds away from Great Ormond Street Hospital. These facilities are designed to cater to the needs of families whose children require urgent and specialist care. As the hospital treats seriously ill children from right across the UK, family accommodation is crucial for those families travelling from outside London with a child in need of life-changing treatment.

The accommodation includes apartments with a range of bedroom sizes, kitchen facilities, a quiet room, sitting rooms, laundry and dining areas. The designs integrate contemporary features and subtle lighting with restored period details.

The project was funded by the GOSH Charity with funding support from Royal Bank of Canada and McColl’s.
