Finsbury Health Centre

Avanti Architects was commissioned to prepare a complete survey and Conservation Strategy to mark the 50th anniversary of this Grade I working icon of the 1930s by Lubetkin and Tecton. Funds were made available to implement the first phase of this project which included replacement of roof coverings, specialist concrete repair, facsimile retiling and signage, and restoration of the distinctive curtain wall facade. The reinstatement of the distinctive original colour values to windows, curtain walling, and elements of structure was an important aspect of the project which was intended as exemplar for the completion of the remainder.
