CUH Paediatric Hospital
Cork, IrelandThe detailed design has begun for a major expansion to children’s healthcare at Cork University Hospital (CUH), following grant of planning permission. This forms a key part of the strategy to make CUH a regional hub for paediatric health services.
The building specification is of an exceptionally high standard, with single bed en-suite ward accommodation and a variety of interior design features and graphic elements. The exterior also features high quality façade materials including stone and coloured glass, with glazed terracotta tiles arranged in colourful patterns to generous landscaped courtyards within.
The five-storey extension will provide 83 paediatric in-patient bedrooms, high dependency units, palliative care suites, haematology bed spaces, procedure rooms, operating theatres and diagnostic facilities.
