Barbican Estates
LondonThe Barbican is believed to be the largest listed heritage asset in England with over 2000 habitable units. In developing management guidelines for joint clients City of London and English Heritage, Avanti Architects were involved in an extensive consultation programme of working party and public meetings including residents across all forms of tenure. The guidelines, published in Spring 2005 and formally adopted as a Supplementary Planning Document, are now in service on the estate and stand as an exemplar for the control and management of large scale post-war listed housing.
