Ulster Hospital wins top prize at CEF awards
24 October 2017The new Inpatient Ward block at Ulster Hospital won the top accolade of overall winner for the most outstanding entry at the Construction Excellence Awards last week. The team also took home the award for Best Health Infrastructure.
“The judging panel were particularly impressed at the very clear evidence of excellent collaborative working between client, user-groups, design team, principal contractor and sub-contractors ensuring that design quality, build quality and continuous consideration of ‘build-ability’ led to a high standard of client satisfaction, and indeed, to an extremely important new health care building that sets the tone and quality threshold for future phase at the Ulster Hospital.”
CEF Managing Director John Armstrong
With 100% single rooms, the 30,000m2 Inpatient facility has been widely praised in healthcare and Architecture journals this year for its thoughtful design maximising access to natural light, with generously landscaped courtyards and carefully considered ward arrangement. The building was also highly commended in the European Healthcare awards earlier in the year.
