Natural History Museum – New Appointment

31 August 2023

Avanti Architects are delighted to be appointed to lead the full restoration of the façades of the Grade I listed Waterhouse Building at the Natural History Museum.  The initial project, which is to be phased over two years, aims to continue the specialist restoration work started in 2016 and will include the restoration of the highly decorative terracotta façade and repair of the wrought and cast iron windows, designed by Alfred Waterhouse between 1873-1881.

Our team, which includes Price & Myers, Catherine Woolfit Associates, Collabora Consulting, Socotec, Odgers Conservation and Stace LLP, are looking forward to working with the NHM client team, Mace and Lichfield’s to continue the work on one of London’s most iconic landmarks and sharing updates as the works progress.
