Makers achieves practical completion
15 September 2020Avanti Architect’s £113m mixed-use regeneration scheme in Shoreditch has reached practical completion. This highly innovative scheme offers a unique model for densification of inner city sites to generate the necessary funds for local councils to deliver public services. It is also an exemplar for maximising public land assets through a public/private partnership.
Located in the tight knit street network of Shoreditch, the scheme delivers one hundred and seventy five residential units, a school, commercial/gallery space and a new public space for Londoners. The scheme also makes an outstanding contribution to the local neighbourhood through wider improvements to connectivity and permeability across the area.
Mike Sparrow, Programme Director, Hackney Learning Trust, London Borough of Hackney commented: ‘We are extremely pleased with the design and the architectural solution achieved for this mixed use development, the unique school design and integration into residential building is proving a great success.’
