Healthcare Estates IHEEM shortlisted

We are delighted to announce that the Ulster Hospital Acute Services Block has been shortlisted for New Build Project of the Year at the 2022 Healthcare Estates IHEEM Awards held as part of the annual IHEEM conference and exhibition. Healthcare Estates IHEEM Awards recognise and award excellence in the latest innovations from the leading names in the healthcare sector. The awards are judged by experts with extensive experience and achievements within the NHS and commercial healthcare sector.
The completion of the new Acute Services Block, designed by Avanti in collaboration with Kennedy Fitzgerald Architects is a major milestone in the ongoing wider strategic plan for the eventual replacement of all outdated hospital buildings on the Ulster Hospital site. The new building successfully integrates into the existing hospital, connecting with the Critical Care Complex and the Inpatient Ward Block to create a compact inpatient and emergency core at the heart of the redeveloped hospital.
We are proud of the exceptional design quality that has been achieved in this second phase of implementation of the Avanti masterplan following on from the Inpatient Ward Block. With 80% single rooms, generously internal courtyards and carefully designed interior providing a clutter free and relaxing patient environment, the project sets a new benchmark for major hospital project delivery in the UK.
