Children’s Hospital, Sheffield gets go ahead

Avanti Architects’ design for a £40 million project at the Children’s Hospital, Sheffield, has just been granted planning permission. The design aims to create the best possible experience for patients, their families and staff. On arrival, children and their families enter a light-filled atrium. At its heart is a surprising, colourful, sculptural ‘play tube’ suspended from the roof. Fun and play are integrated throughout the scheme, inside and out.
