Avanti completes on Oxlow Lane

Avanti is delighted to announce the completion of Oxlow Lane in Dagenham East.

Working with main contractor Mullaley, this scheme redevelops and densifies a former council estate to deliver 62 affordable homes for Be First, the regeneration arm of Barking and Dagenham Council.

The site is on the corner of the noisy and polluted Rainham Road North and Oxlow Lane, surrounded by low-density suburban housing and industrial units. Its façade is folded rhythmically to create a ribboned effect and reduce scale. Brickwork has been used in a planar manner with articulated bandings, full-height fenestration and stacked recessed balconies.

This project embodies a sensitive and sustainable approach to Be First’s ambitious brief, delivering much-needed affordable housing for London.
