We offer a sustainability consultancy service, The Carbon Surgery, which helps to assess, control and reduce carbon emissions through improved building performance, especially for organisations with large estates such as hospitals, schools and universities.
Energy-efficient design also forms part of our core architectural service, following a strategic fabric-first approach to ensure that energy-efficiency underpins the design from concept through to detailed design. We use environmental modelling tools such as Sefaira to ensure that we have comparative data to inform our design processes and our highly-trained staff include BREEAM Accredited Professionals.
Avanti Architects’ Environmental Management System is registered under ISO14001:2004 and is closely aligned with our Quality Management Systems as defined under ISO9001:2008. Our activities are broken down into individual workstreams and programmes which are regularly reviewed by our Sustainability Group. These are broadly divided into internal and wider project based activities, ensuring our own impacts are minimised and the buildings we design achieve ambitious environmental targets. Our commitment to sustainable architecture and the environment is reflected in a number of awards and exemplar projects.
