Providing facilities for postgraduates and for the training of hospital staff, this building comprises teaching spaces, a library and offices.
The design creates a clear, legible and contemporary form, arranged around a landscaped entrance plaza, and carefully integrated into a wider landscape of mature trees. The scale and materials of the building acknowledge the Victorian heritage of the Pinderfields Hospital site, with red brick facades echoing the welcoming character of local architecture. Large areas of glazing create a feeling of openness and inclusion, revealing the full-height foyer within, and views through the building to the landscape beyond.
